Thursday 18 February 2010 Cycle Ten, Day fifteen, Treatment Three
Well another uneventful boring day at chemo. OK so I told you last week that I needed to do something to make Chemo interesting ------ so this week I took Keep-Her (my service dog) with me, as she had been freshly bathed and was all clean. Everyone wanted to pet her and play with her, instead of doing their work. She’s such a suck up for loving and pets, that it didn’t take a whole lot of encouragement from them. Once I was settled in the chair I allowed her to visit. At one point I knocked my water bottle of my little table and without being asked she got up and picked it up for me ----I told her she was just showing off ----I got a big toothy poodle grin from her. She got all the oos and awes she was looking for. Silly girl.
I’m exhausted as usual, seems to be the story of my life these days. My blood counts are still within acceptable ranges so no excitement there either.

Thursday 11 February 2010 Cycle Ten, Day eight, Treatment Two
Well another uneventful boring day at chemo. I tried to think of something to do to create a little excitement----sigh-----everyone told me I had to behave………Although it did take the nurse two tries to get in---I told her that after two years of doing this weekly the veins are getting good at playing Hide-n-seek The nurse just LOL at me and said “well they are trying to at least, but *I* won.”
I’m exhausted as usual, seems to be the story of my life these days. My blood counts are still within acceptable ranges so no excitement there either.

Catch up---
When one is boring it's really hard to post that there is really no news. the week of 27 January 2010 was my OFF week, so nothing happened there. I had hopped to go on a mini vacation since I had no test and/or treatments for a nice stretch of time---but all my drivers were otherwise busy and couldn't take me any where.
Last week 04 February 2010 was my first week of the next cycle. I'm starting cycle 10. Saw the Dr and he said it was OK to do the next session. The tumor is staying the same---it's not shrinking nor is it growing----so just hanging in there and existing. I do wish it would go away

Thursday 21 January 2010 Cycle Nine, Day Seventeen, Treatment Three
Well today was back to normal----slow. So much for Thursdays being the good omen. Took only ONE nurse ONE try to get in, and it wasn’t too painful today. She did bring me a hot pack as soon as she hung the Chemo drug so that also helped the pain to subside right away.
No TV this week.. oh well I guess I can't have them all the time.

Thursday 14 January 2010 Cycle Nine, Day Ten, Treatment Two
Well today was almost a total shock to my/our systems. I was in and out in about 2 hours today. Yeah Team!!!! It must be the fact that I was back on Thursday . Took only ONE nurse ONE try to get in, and it wasn’t too painful today. She did bring me a hot pack as soon as she hung the Chemo drug so that also helped the pain to subside right away.
I got a chair with a TV again this week and figured out how to put the Close Captioning up so that I could *hear/read* it. I was nice and took it off again before I left. Not every chair has a TV it's like every other one or so. and the chairs are positioned so that you can't really "share" your TV with a neighbour.the Chairs that don't have TV's have windows to look out at----not much of a view though

Monday 04 January 2010 Cycle Nine, Day one, Treatment One
Today was another one of those LONG days at the clinic. The DR was about an hour and half late. However he had sort of good news. My blood counts were all fine, and my CT Scan was status quo. That means that major areas of concern and others, have not grown---nor have they shrunk any more --- they just hanging in there.
It took two nurses three tries to get an IV started on my today. My veins are getting tired of all this stuff. Can’t say as I blame them I’m getting tired of it also.
Quote of the Week
