August 19 thru August 25 Cycle ThreeTreatment one

There’s no place like home!!!
Just returned home from another trip back east at Bethesda MD for treatment. We had to modify my treatment already as I had a slight reaction to part of the study drug, process of elimination as to what it was. They started with the secondary shots (the ones that I had to give myself)---I’m still receiving the vaccine booster, and the Chemo. So far I’d say that it was the right choice, as I’ve had no reaction from the booster vaccine.
The weather was pleasant back there this trip a nice balmy mid 60’s to mid 70’s with decent humidity even (you know like west coast weather normally is).
My niece Amber went with me this trip. My friends and I took her out to a lovely Italian Restaurant for her 29th birthday celebration.
All in all it was a good trip----think I’ll take her again.

Race for the Cure 2010

Even though we (Keep-Her [my dog] and I) will not be walking we have joined a Team to raise funds for the Komen Race for the Cure event again this year. This year during the race for the cure I'm scheduled to be back at the National Cancer institute receiving experimental treatment that will hopefully help me and other's in the future to live cancer free. won't you help up reach our goal. Last year Keep-Her raised almost $1000.00 on her own site.

Tuesday 10 August 2010 Cycle two Treatment Three day fifteen

Treatment this week was uneventful once we got the IV in took two nurses three tries to get in. Actually the first nurse got in both time but the vein blew immediately--YEAH Boring is back!!!! When I got back home today suddenly the first finger on my right hand went numb and cold feeling. (that was in line with the first vein that she blew) so I held my hand up over my head for about 10 min and I could feel it “drain” cool down into my arm. Really weird.

I've been having a lot of trouble with leg/feet/hand cramping the DR suggested that I take Magnesium for it. We'll give it a try. OK so it’s been a week----the muscle cramps aren’t quite as frequent but they are still almost as BAD when they do occur.

Tuesday 03 August 2010 Cycle two Treatment two day eight

Treatment this week was uneventful--YEAH Boring is back!!!! Took one nurse ONE try to get in. the new Chemo suites at the clinic are *sweet* they are big and airy so that you can have a guest come and sit with you not just a "short" visiting minuets time frame like it was.

I've been having a lot of trouble with leg/feet/hand cramping the DR suggested that I take Magnesium for it. We'll give it a try.
