Cycle ONE Week One Thursday 05 January 2012 New Chemotherapy Drug

Well today Keep-Her and I were accompanied by my Husband Mack, my Niece who is my primary caregiver Amber, and my Daughter Roxanne, as I saw Dr R., and we again discussed the various drug options that were out there me still to try. He also asked how I was doing with the port and if I had had any problems with the surgery. I don't think he was really prepared for me to actually start Chemotherapy today, as we had talked about this prior to his taking a family vacation. My Case worker and I also talked about it, she read his notes, so we scheduled the office visit and treatment times. So, once he Okayed it I had my first dose of the new drug via my port and so far everything is going fine. I have a terrific headache (about a 6 on the “pain” scale) Ibuprofen seems to give some relief.

Not sure if it was because of the "port" or what but we got a "private" room very large, with lovely picture window overlooking, light rail, the park across the street and the Willamette River a little ways away.
