Well the testing is all done and the results are back----I've been accepted into the Study program-------and was Randomized (I call itthe coin toss) to the actual drug that they are "studying". THE VACCINE!!! So on Friday I get my first dose of the Study drug then I return in three weeks on the 28 June 2010 for the next dose of it. From then on I'll be only flying out here once every four weeks for a check-up to see how I'm doing and start the next cycle...the weather here is HOT!!!!!! Since they have Roxanne's name she was the one that got booked for the next flight out.
Roxanne has been a big help get me to the various parts of the hospital to the appointed places on time and actually hearing stuff that I didn't always hear correctly.
Keep-Her has been a real champ thru it all. just lays there and snoozes between stops. Lots of people have enjoyed seeing her at the clinic.
Jann the very HOT n TIRED Overcomer

I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane
Sunday, May 16, 2010
13 May 2010 till 06 June 2010
Al lrighty my last update until after my trip to Bethesda, MD
I think it's safe to talk about this now and not jinx it tooo much
1) I have my plane tickets bought and paid for
2) I have a place to stay (thank you ever so much Jean)
3) I have appointments lined up for my time at National Cancer Institute.
I leave home here with Keep-Her and my daughter Roxanne (this trip) as my care giver companion. so I'm fairly confident that it really is going to happen this year, and not fizzle out like it did last year.
I still don't know that I qualify for their study program yet---won't know till I get back there and go thru all their testing procedures (at their expense). This way I'll have a "fresh" (2nd/3rd opinion) pair of eyes looking at all the results and see if they see the same things......

Thursday 06 May 2010 Cycle Thirteen, Day Eight, Treatment Two
Well yesterday was an interesting uneventful day. they called my on Wednesday Cinco D Mayo and asked if I could come in later in the day to avoid the wait time. (should have gone with my gut feeling and said NO!!) But I was Ms Nice person this time and said OK.so we moved the appointment from 12:30 PM up to 2:00 PM gee wonder what wait time would have been if I'd gone in at 12:30 as it was I had to wait 45 mins to be called back to the treatment room, then another 30 min for my first medication to arrive that I have to take 30 min before receiving the Chemo stuff. After that it went without a hitch.
As I posted earlier my daughter, son-in-law and girls had an early Mother's day dinner for me last night. a little surf (BBQ Salmon) and Turf (Prime Rib Roast) sad to say that there were no left overs
they gave me a lovely flower basket to hang out doors and feed my humming birds from----soooooooooooo cool. I love flowers but I can NOT have them in my house....only one the other side of glass.
Now to get serious about packing my bags and teaching Keep-Her how to fly...... Bethesda Maryland here we come. I have an appointment with them on 01 June 2010 2 9:00 AM in the morning to start the process to see if I'm eligible for any of their study protocols.

Thursday 22 April 2010 Cycle Twelve, Day Twenty-two, Treatment NONE
This is my week OFF from treatment. YEAH!!!! All I want to do is sleep!
This past week or so has been sad one for a couple of my friends and family, as they have lost a Loved one. My neighbour who has been in a care center for almost two years now and I've been caring for his house and yard to keep the appearance up that some one was there---Died last Saturday 17 April 2010. Then on Sunday 18 April 2010 my daughter's father-in-law Del McKay passed away.
